Devotion
This week’s worship service began with a whimsical and dramatic entrance by Sir Reginald the Reverent and his squire, who gallantly introduced worship in a fun and light-hearted way. The Knight, on his invisible steed, proclaimed that we had not gathered for battle or feasting but for the most noble of quests: worship. His playful antics set the tone for a service that combined humour and reverence, reminding us to set aside our concerns and focus on God. As the Knight declared, "The Lord is our shepherd, and He doth not maketh reservations!"
The service then moved to a more serious moment, where the townspeople shared their worries - broken bones, lost coconuts, and fears of being overwhelmed. One of the central themes of the service became clear: life is full of challenges, but we don’t need to face them alone.
Through the use of humour, the message was clear: when life feels heavy, we are invited to bring our burdens to God.
Ms Ingham’s search for "rock" music humorously shifted into a powerful reminder that the true "Rock" we need is God - our steady foundation amid life’s uncertainties. The scriptures, specifically Philippians 4:6-7, were brought to life through this message: “Don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.”
In the end, the service was a powerful reminder that God is the one we can turn to with all our worries and fears. As we face life’s challenges, we can trust that God listens, cares, and will give us peace beyond understanding.
So today, let us bring our worries to God in prayer, knowing that He will always respond with love, care, and wisdom.
