Harmony Week
Monday 17th March to Friday 21st March was Harmony Week and Ballarat High School had a jam packed week of fun activities to celebrate the diversity of our students.
On Monday the Year 11 VM class enjoyed Dutch Butter Cake made by Jessie Ware's mum, which gave them energy to promote the events of the week to other classes. During lunch time on Monday a Sri Lankan lunch was prepared and cooked by our very own Dhanu. The students loved it and had a great time sharing food together. At the same time, Charlee and Zahli from Year 11 ran a Year 7 karaoke. The karaoke was a great success with a lot of students attending and having fun. Feedback received being the Year 7's asked for karaoke to be a regular event!
Danielle Maggi and Sienna from Year 11, ran an origami workshop in the library.
Other events this week included:
Tuesday - Sushi lunch,
Thursday - board games, craft making, gym games, basketball, Bollywood dancing and traditional lunch
Friday - a sausage sizzle with drinks, orange donuts and live music
It has been a jam packed week full of fun activities to promote Harmony Week. Ballarat High School's aim is to celebrate diversity, call out racism and enhance connectedness.
