Flanagan Art Prize

Congratulations to Isabelle (Issy) Tobin on her selection to the 2025 Young Flanagan Art Prize and exhibition.

The Flanagan Art Prize is a national acquisitive art competition and exhibition that showcases contemporary art forms, with a focus on both established and emerging Australian artists. The Young Flanagan Art Prize is an inaugural category in 2025 and is open to secondary school aged students nationally. With a total of $18,000 in prize money being available across six Flanagan Art Prize categories, it is fabulous for the Ballarat (and broader) arts communities to be able to access such a prestigious event. From an education point of view, it is wonderful that such an art prize is available to our students as participation at exhibition level offers a rich introduction to the selection process and the competitive arena in which the artist plays.

We are delighted for Isabelle Tobin that her work, ‘A Call To The Past’,  has been selected for exhibition. The work is presented as a Triptych in Prisma Colour Pencil. Issy’s work is sophisticated in its composition and rendering; an amazing work delivered by Issy in 2024 during her Year 12 - Unit 4, Art Making and Exhibiting studies. At this time Issy was in Year 11 which suggests she is a student to watch in the future.

The exhibition of finalists and presentation of prizes commences at the Gala Launch on Friday 21st March , 2025 at 7:00pm and is a ticketed event only. See link for TryBooking below.
