Kitchen Garden

Kitchen garden is Working alongside the science unit this fortnight exploring where our foods originate from. Understanding food labels and the nutrient value of the food we eat.

In the garden we are exploring food origins, some surprises, did you know that grapes originated in North America? The students will look at the produce we buy and how it has differed over the years. The children have really enjoyed exploring the world and the food origins.

For the very first time we have a microwave in our kitchen !!! Only temporarily while we discover and compare ready made meals to the same meals cooked from raw ingredients. Mac and cheese, noodles and apple crumble.

It will be a fun time taste testing the meals and interesting to see what we think is tastier. To be fair the dessert is so sugary either way I think that will be a tough on!

The results are in and although some did prefer 2 minute noodles the majority liked the homemade food better. Phew
