Principal's Message

Leadership assembly, SRC and Green Team assembly – Monday 17 March 2:30pm

We will be presenting our leadership badges for our Year 6 student leaders at assembly on Monday 17 March. This is a special occasion and we welcome all family members to attend. We will also be presenting the badges for the Year 2 – 6 class representatives for Green Team and Student Representative Council members.

NAPLAN

Our Year 3 and 5 children have done an awesome job this week as they have completed the first 3 of their NAPLAN assessments. There have been a few technical difficulties as the NAPLAN website has dropped out but our children have demonstrated their grit and determination to do their best. They have one remaining assessment to complete on Monday (Numeracy).

Working Bee – Wednesday 26 March 2:30pm – 6pm

As mentioned previously, we are trialling a Wednesday afternoon time slot for our next working bee. We have lots of jobs including:

  • sweeping
  • weeding
  • mulching the orchard area
  • planting in the kitchen garden area
  • digging and removing soil
  • tidying up
  • cleaning of drain pits

We will be providing a sausage sizzle for dinner.  Please come along and support the school at this great community event.

Zooper Dooper Day for Mackenzie and Addison

Later this year in July, Mackenzie and Addison are traveling to Walt Disney World, in Orlando, Florida, USA as part of the Australian Team to compete in the ISKA/NSKA World Championship in Karate. The girls are very keen on their karate and we are so proud that they have been selected in the Australian team to compete at the highest level.

A big thank you to Jessica McCasker and the Student Representative Council who quickly organised a zooper dooper day to contribute to the cost of the trip.

The SRC raised over $500 for Mackenzie and Addison’s trip.  We wish the girls well and we look forward to a karate demonstration at assembly!

 REVVED UP

Liz Frith, Jessica McCasker and Toby Crouch have completed training in a program called Revved Up. Revved Up aims to shift the emphasis towards positive solutions to challenging situations.  Using self reflection, students who are involved in Revved Up are able to connect the program’s learning outcomes to personal situations and make changes that benefit them on a daily basis. Revved Up is designed to encourage students to be mindful of how they think, feel and act when they get angry, how they can cool down in challenging situations, and if faced with a situation they can’t avoid, how to ensure them and their friends remain safe without intentionally escalating the matter.

Selected Year 4 boys will be our first group to undergo Revved Up sessions followed by other year levels later in the year.
