Principal's Report
Dear Parents and Friends,
Thank you to all who participated in our Community Feedback Survey in late 2024. The insights gathered from this annual survey are invaluable in helping us better understand our parent community, celebrate areas of strength, and identify opportunities for improvement. This year, we received 222 responses from across the College, representing approximately one-third of our families.
We are pleased to report that 83% of families indicated they are either satisfied or very satisfied with the College. This positive result affirms the dedication of our staff and the supportive environment we strive to cultivate.
When asked to identify areas where the College excels, many families highlighted our Christian foundations, the care and support provided to students, and the quality of our teaching staff.
Parents also shared that their children experienced the most growth in academics, leadership, confidence, and wellbeing.
We acknowledge that there are also areas where we can improve. A key point of feedback was the Secondary Maths Program. While the program has achieved overall success, feedback indicates a range of experiences – some families highly value its differentiated approach, while others find it challenging. We want to assure parents that we have heard these concerns. In response, the Year 10 Maths Program has been adjusted this year, with further refinements planned across the Secondary school over the next two years.
While the Math Pathways model will not be removed entirely, it will be targeted more specifically to benefit students who thrive in a differentiated learning environment.
Other areas under consideration include the senior secondary subject offerings, expanding extracurricular and community activities, and addressing frustrations with the Student Management System.
The feedback also highlighted the diverse perspectives within our community. While some families requested more relaxed uniform standards, others advocated for stricter enforcement. Similarly, some parents sought increased communication, while others preferred less. Opinions on homework volume also varied significantly. Balancing these expectations can be challenging, but we remain committed to finding a thoughtful and consistent approach.
We were especially encouraged by the positive feedback regarding our Wellbeing and Chaplaincy programs, which underwent structural changes in 2024. It is heartening to see that families value these services and are supportive of their continued expansion.
We appreciate the time and effort parents invested in sharing their feedback. While it will take time to consider all suggestions and determine the best way forward, please know that your voices have been heard.
Overall, I am heartened by the strong support expressed by our community, and I thank you for partnering with us as we strive to provide the best possible education for your children.
Yours sincerely,
Andrew Manning, Principal
