Grade 5 Report

As the new school year gets into full swing, we’re excited to share some updates on how the Grade 5 children are settling in!
We “kicked off” the year with an All About Me activity, giving everyone the chance to share more about themselves and learn about their classmates.
In Maths, students have been diving into the world of fractions through a variety of engaging and interactive activities. They’ve explored colourful fraction wallpaper folding, played "peg the fraction on the number line" and even imagined a hypothetical chocolate cake sharing party to better understand fractions in real-life contexts.
In Science, Grade 5 students have been investigating the different states of matter: solids, liquids and gasses. They’ve explored how these states are made up of tiny particles and how those particles move and behave in each state. Through fun experiments, students have gained a deeper understanding of the properties of matter and the role of particles in shaping everything around us.
Fostering a growth mindset is key to our students' personal and academic development. To support this, we recently took part in a powerful affirmation activity. It’s been inspiring to watch our students use their affirmations to tackle challenges with optimism and determination!
We're super proud of the Grade 5 students’ progress over the last few weeks and can’t wait to share more of their success throughout the year!
