Principal's Report

Grade 6 Camp
This week Dale Adams and I are in Canberra with our Grade 6 students. It is certainly a busy time. We left Melbourne on Monday morning at 7am and after stops in Benalla, Holbrook and Gundagai we arrived in Canberra at about 4.30pm.
The children were fantastic on the bus drive - I didn’t hear “Are we there yet?” once.
Yesterday was a very busy day, breakfast at 7am then off to the Electoral Commission, Old Parliament House, the National Capital Exhibition and then Parliament House. We made a quick stop back at camp for dinner and then off to Questacon. We arrived back at the camp at about 10pm with 73 very tired children and 8 very tired staff.
The camp to Canberra is a jam-packed few days but it provides the children with so many memorable experiences.
Today is another busy day starting at 7.30am (a bit of a sleep in) but it will be 10pm before we return to camp again tonight.
In our absence Joe Greige has been the acting principal. I thank Joe for taking on the role and ensuring things are running smoothly back at school.
We will be returning on Friday 7 March. Parents will receive a post on Compass and Google classroom with an expected arrival time, hopefully around 3.30 pm.
Please don't phone the Office as they will not have any further information to give you.
School Council Elections
We had four parents nominated for the four two-year vacancies, which meant we didn’t have to have an election.
The people to take up the two-year positions are: Parent category - Aaron Hawke, Anna Graham, Christopher Dart and Sam Bell. Staff category - Sarah Giles and Joanna Bright.
We have a one-year casual vacancy and a two-year community position. If you would be interested in taking up either of those position, please email me at janet.paterson@education.vic.gov.au
If we receive more expressions of interest than we have positions, the decision on who to offer them to will be made by School Council.
Please get your expression of interest to me no later than Tuesday March 11th.
Regards
Janet Paterson,
Principal.
