Term One Wrap Up! 🎉

Colour Run 🌈

The preps were absolutely thrilled for the first Colour Run, an event they had eagerly talked about. Though they were disappointed when it was initially cancelled due to inclement weather, the day finally arrived - and what a perfect day it turned out to be! The Preps looked fantastic in their rainbow headbands, sunglasses and white shirts, ready to be splashed with vibrant colours. After being showered in a rainbow of colour, the Wonga Park CFA joined in, dousing students with water, making for a fun, colourful, and refreshing time for everyone on the oval!

A big thank you to the teachers and parents who helped in the lead-up and on the day of the event. These community gatherings create lasting memories for everyone involved!

Cross Country 🏃🏻‍♀️

On a beautiful Friday, we held our school Cross Country and what a perfect sunny day it was for the Preps’ very first race! Everyone dressed in their House colours, and the preps kicked things off, running alongside their Grade 6 buddies. We were so proud of our students for giving their best effort. After the race, we cheered on other students, enjoyed a delicious sausage and then made our way home. The Preps were amazing on the walk back, listening carefully to safety instructions and we made it home safely and soundly!

Easter - Eggs and Bonnets and Bunnies, oh my! 🐰

This week, our Prep students embraced the Easter spirit with enthusiasm and joy! Many of our learning activities had an Easter theme, setting a festive tone for the entire week.

One of the highlights was the creation of Easter baskets, made with great care. Of course, these were crafted in the hopes of attracting a visit from a certain fluffy, long-eared friend. Excitement filled the air when reports surfaced of a bunny sighting on school grounds! Led by Tim, our Preps embarked on a search to find the elusive visitor...

Upon returning to their classrooms, the Preps were overjoyed to discover that their special guest had stopped by, leaving behind delightful surprises! 

But the Easter fun didn’t stop there. Students proudly showcased their handmade Easter bonnets in a vibrant parade around the basketball court. A big thank you to the parents who supported their children in crafting these gorgeous creations at home. Your involvement made this Easter celebration even more special.

Learning, Growing and Having Fun! 🍎

We have been astounded by the amazing progress the Preps have made this term! We are incredibly proud of how they’ve adapted to school life, learning so much in such a short time. From discovering the joys of reading and writing to exploring new ideas in maths, the Preps have truly blossomed. They've also reflected on what it means to be kind and caring students, building positive connections along the way. And, of course, they’ve had lots of fun! One of our favourite lessons was when we went outside to explore shapes and made them with our bodies. Check out the photos below!
