Hope to see you there!
We now have 36 out of 40 Birds filling up the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Celebration Tree in the office area!
Students have been displaying our school values - Ambition, Compassion, Courage & Creativity - at every opportunity this term, earning Egg tokens as acknowledgements of positive behaviour. They are enjoying trading every ten eggs for a Chick of the corresponding colour, then become very excited when ten Chicks get traded for a Bird!
A reminder that students are supervised by school staff from 8.45am each morning, and until 3.45pm every afternoon. There have been a lot of students at school significantly earlier than 8.45am recently, without parent supervision. Please make sure you are supervising your children before 8.45am, or delivering them to school once staff are on Yard Duty.
Crossing Safety
Elizabeth has an unmanned School Crossing that is easily accessible from the southern exit of the school. Could all parents please make sure they are using this crossing area with your children, as it is a much safer place to cross the road than the T-intersection at the end of Edwin St. We have seen many near-misses and are very concerned for student and parent safety.
Congratulations to Marcus Davies for becoming the Mixed Junior Under 15s ACT State Champion for DISC Golf over the recent long weekend! Marcus and his dad have been competing in DISC Golf over the past year or so, having a great time learning the new sport, which is clearly well-suited to him.
Congratulations Marcus - we're so proud of you!
DISC Golf is a relatively new sport that has been gaining significant attention recently. It involves throwing a frisbee into a 'Pole Hole' (chain basket) from a tee area. Keep an eye out for some DISC Golf activities in PE at Box Hill North this coming year, courtesy of Marcus and the Ruffey Lake Disc Golf crew!
