Ryan’s Rambling 

Dear Families,

It’s the long weekend! Whilst it’s wonderful for so many families to be able to spend some extra time together, some of our families are busier during weekends such as these. I do hope that none of you or your extended families were adversely affected by the bushfires in Buninyong this week. It seems that the Summer weather isn’t quite done with us yet. 

Our School Council election process has now closed. I am thrilled to announce that the following parents have been duly elected to the Ballarat Primary School Council for the next two years.

Kylie Watson has also been duly elected as a DET representative. I thank all nominees for their continued support to our school governance. I would especially like to that Meredith Robinson for nominating for the first time to our School Council. 

On Thursday this week, our Student Leadership Team received their badges at a special Investiture Ceremony, in front of parents, grandparents and friends. Our Leaders spoke passionately about their understanding of Leadership and their hopes and dreams as they take the reigns of their important roles. I am confident that our school will continue to flourish with our Student Leaders at the helm. Thank you to all the community members who made the time to support our students. 

This week marks the final Wednesday that our Foundation students stay home. From next week, our youngest team members will begin their full time schooling. Over what seems like a short time, they have taken to building their collective endurance for full time school, no doubt with a few early nights and afternoon naps along the way. In saying that, it is evident that they are ready for this next step in their educational journey.  By Friday night; however, they may be ready for another afternoon nap! 

I do hope that you’re all able to spend time with family and those who matter the most. I hope you’re able to spend time ‘in the moment’ without the seemingly insurmountable pressures of modern life.
