Level 2

Level 2

The term has kicked off in full gusto in level 2 as we head into learning all about Australian history. In Reading and Writing, the students have been researching information about Australian animals and states and then learning about how to put this into an information report. We have been enjoying journeying around Australia by reading a range of Australian books, and then summarising and synthesizing what we are reading.

In Numeracy we have been focusing on Mapping, understanding how to interpret a range of maps like the school map, Melbourne Museum map, Google Maps and even looking at an Atlas. The students have enjoyed creating their own treasure island map in class, complete with a key, grid lines and capital cities.

As part of our Inquiry unit we have also been exploring where some key Australian attractions are. I wonder if you know where you might find The Big Banana, the Big Prawn or even the Big Galah? We have been using our knowledge of our topic to help us with our Reading, Writing and Maths activities.

All the students have been doing a wonderful job practicing for the production and you'll have to admit they did an amazing job on the night! Well done Level 2 🙂
