Teen Mental Health First Aid

Wellbeing Team News

The Year 10s have completed their Teen Mental Health First Aid training this week. Teen Mental Health First Aid is designed specifically for 15-18 year olds and aims to teach teenagers how to recognise when things aren’t going right with one of their friends, and how to help them out. This course taught about mental health, the signs of mental health concerns (early warning signs), what help is available (supports) and what to do to support a friend if t are worried about them.

This certified course was led and organised by our Well-being team members Bec Norton and Marg Lawless and also facilitated by our guests from Darebin Council Raquel Solier and Munro Melano and another teacher, Jordan Fay.  The students engaged well and some of the feedback from them was the it was 'meaningful and helpful'.  Thank you to the Wellbeing team and staff who were involved.

Kind Regards,
