This year, we are excited to announce Dr Michael Carr-Gregg presenting Surviving and Thriving in Year 7 – an online parent information session for parents / carers of students Kingston Youth Services are supporting transition into Year 7 through the Grade Six Support Program.

Dr Michael Carr-Gregg is one of Australia’s highest profile psychologists, author of 14 books, broadcaster and a specialist in corporate mental health, families, parenting, children, adolescents and the use of technology for mental health.

Surviving and Thriving in Year 7

The transition from primary school to high school is when Australian students are at greatest risk of losing interest in school. Kids from 11 to 14 years place high value on friendships, and one of students’ biggest concerns when they move to high school is fitting in. Poor relationships with peers predict lower wellbeing, lower grades and a higher risk of drop-out. This webinar delivered by one of Australia's best-known child and adolescent psychologists, Dr Michael Carr-Gregg will give participants the latest research on the practical skills, knowledge and strategies to manage the transition and build happy and resilient young people for 2023 and beyond.
