This week has been a week of visits, and we did solve a mystery!! Mrs Judd left two trays of Gingerbread Men on the craft table Monday night. When she arrived Tuesday morning they were gone. Oh my... was this disappointing for the Foundation students who would have liked very much to eat them. Thankfully, Mrs Mulquiny was able to help Foundation find out where they went by providing them with security footage... It seems, they ran away!

Monday we visited the Art and Photography exhibition.
Students enjoyed looking at the different artworks and our younger students were inspired by the 3D printer and felting. Many of our student’s works were recognised, check out the Art Department page to see who were selected for Student Awards.

On Tuesday, we helped the Bendigo Bank celebrate their 20th Birthday! We thank them for inviting us and for all they have contributed to our community over the 20 years.

Around the classrooms
The Year 12s have been in the Foundation classroom again…

Today we said goodbye to the Year 12s who have been great buddies for our Foundation students. We wish them all the very best and hope they keep in touch.

ADHD Awareness Month
ADHD Awareness Month is celebrated every October to raise awareness of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), a neurodevelopmental disorder that affects 1 in 20 Australians.
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a complex neuro-developmental disorder which affects a person’s ability to exert age-appropriate self-control.
It is characterised by persistent patterns of inattentive, impulsive, and sometimes hyperactive behaviour, and is frequently accompanied by emotional regulation challenges.
People with ADHD have little control over these behaviours as they stem from underlying neurological differences. They arise due to an impaired ability to inhibit and regulate attention, behaviour and emotions; to reliably recall information in the moment; to plan and problem solve; to self-reflect and self-monitor; and to self-soothe.

With evidence-based treatment and support, people with ADHD can embrace their strengths and interests, learn to manage their challenges and live a full and rewarding life.
ADHD is frequently misunderstood and contrary to common myths is under-diagnosed.
These myths are both unhelpful and not evidence-based.
