Year 2 & 3 House Athletics

Grade two and three athletics day was a blast! By Arthur 3JN

If it wasn't for the track and field, we wouldn't be able to do all the AMAZING things like running the 700 metres, 400 metres and 100 metres. Then we had the chicken throw, vortex throw, hurdles and long jump.

House colours made us proud, with our costumes, ribbons, having a participation award and also points for the team.

A big thank you to parents and teachers for helping and supporting us in races. A very big special thank you to Mr Runchey for organising our athletics day!

Athletics Day - by Ky  3JN

Grade 2 and 3 athletics day was amazing. It was a great way to show off our sport style and skill, all while having fun, earning ribbons and gaining strength! We could also experience new things, things we could grow into and love, like long jump! We could also learn about different events.

Athletics day was also a great way to learn. We learnt about events that some of us had never even heard of before! Take chicken throw for example. An event where you take a rubber chicken, stand behind a platform and then whoosh!! You throw it as far as you can!

This day was amazing, and we couldn't have done it without the awesome teachers and parents who came to help, including Mr Runchey who was running the whole thing. And Mrs Neylan, who was in charge of first aid. These amazing volunteers put a smile on all these kids faces, and we all appreciate it very much. Thank you!
