Book Club 

Our next book club meeting will be in break 1 on 30 November – we will be talking about our favourite books from the year, and our plans for summer reading!  

Last month’s theme was books from the Fantasy genre – there are lots of new books and new series instalments coming out this month – I really appreciated the tip offs and they have been added to the library shelves.  

Twin Crowns by Catherine Doyle and Katherine Webber - and the sequel Cursed Crowns  

Foul Lady Fortune by Chloe Gong - and the sequel Foul Heart Huntsman  

The Scarlet Veil by Shelby Mahurin (a new series about vampires!)  

A Curse for True Love (Book 3 of the Once Upon a Broken Heart series) by Stephanie Garber  

House of Roots and Ruin by Erin A Craig (Book 2)

International Bookmark Exchange 

This year we have taken part in a Bookmark Exchange Project run by the International Association of School Librarianship. The project involves matched schools making homemade bookmarks to exchange by post with each other. Its a simple, fun way of sharing an enjoyment of books, and of making new connections through school libraries worldwide. 

Thanks so much to the students that got involved and produced a fantastic collection of bookmarks. They have now been dispatched off to Malaysia and Portugal and we are now waiting to see what students in those schools have created for us. 

Holiday Borrowing 

With the end of the year fast approaching, books borrowed now can be kept over the summer break. So get planning that holiday reading! See our Reading Lists for some recommendations.  All students also have access to ebooks and audiobooks all year through the e-Platform (using their Microsoft Teams sign on) – students can download the app to a tablet or mobile phone and there is a fantastic range of books available – perfect for holidays and car trips!
