Grade Prep

We can’t believe we are at the end of the year! Our Prep crew have accomplished so much throughout the year and they should all be so proud of themselves. The highlight this term was heading to Werribee Zoo, the students absolutely loved it!

Reading

Recently we have been focusing on ‘Inferring’ the students have enjoyed discussing texts and thinking about the text on a deeper level. It has been wonderful to hear their inferences during class and group discussions.

Writing

We have concentrated on how we start our sentences, exploring various ways and adding detail. Recently the students have enjoyed completing a writing cycle and writing a letter to Santa that will be sent off in the post on Monday.

Maths

Recently, our emphasis has been on Place Value. Students have revised recognising numbers, modelling them, ordering them, comparing them, and understanding the value of numbers.

Inquiry

The students have been learning about what animals need to survive, adaptations, and then creating/designing an animal of their own, specifying the food/habitat they need to survive.

We continually focused on our PERMA model, recently focusing on Hope and Optimism.
