Prep W

Hello from Prep W

We have had a really exciting time in Prep W over the past few weeks.

By far the most memorable event was the excursion to the Pevan and Sarah Show at the Frankston Arts Centre last week. We have been learning with Pevan and Sarah songs all year, from our morning song, alphabet jam, sentence song, pencil grip, finger gym, counting, plus many, many more. To actually see them live in concert and not just on the TV screen was such an adventure. The students got to sing and dance their way through the whole show. Such excitement! We wrote letters to Pevan and Sarah and are eagerly awaiting to see if we get a reply.

After the show we wrote a recount of the excursion. First, we drew/wrote a plan, then we wrote our recount using this to help us and finally we drew a picture to match our writing. It is amazing to see how far the students have come from the beginning of the year to now. Most were not even able to write words, let alone a sentence. Well done everyone!

We are very proud of what we have achieved this year.

In Maths we have been learning about time. We have made our own clocks, looked at the different features a clock has, what we use them for and begun telling the time to the hour and half hour.  Another fun time activity was making a calendar of our week at school. Each day we drew a picture and wrote a sentence about something we did on that day, e.g. Monday – music.
