Our Langy Lab Update…
Our Maths Leaders have been busy setting up our new Langy Lab, that will be complete with a range of construction items, microscopes, our solar system, Nudel Kart and other activities to promote student’s curiosity and understanding of the world around them.
It has been a painstaking task, but our Lego Wedo kits are almost ready for our eager master builders to get stuck in and create some Lego masterpieces! Lego Wedo is one of the original Lego Education series developed by Lego, it comes complete with coding software that allows our students to bring their creations to life.
In our trial groups we have so far created;
- A Spinning Ferris Wheel, complete with music and children’s laughter.
- A Leaping, Roaring Lion, that gets tired and falls asleep.
- A Drumming Monkey, that plays a nice beat.
3H our First Master Builders…
Our first class to construct and code a Lego Wedo creation was 3H. The students were outstanding as they worked in pairs, interpreting the 36 pages of instructions to create a flying bird! While our birds did not quite reach take off velocity, they were coded by our students to make many interesting sounds that were triggered by waving your hand in front of the motion sensor.
