Aerobics Tryouts

We are looking for approximately 30 students who are currently in Prep - Year 5 who wish to join our LPS aerobics squad next year. 

We will once again have both junior and senior teams. As seen throughout the year, aerobics is great fun for all ages and a good way to stay fit and move to music. 

The students will need to be able to commit to weekly lunchtime training sessions along with being available to compete in several competitions throughout the year. The competitions will take place on weekends, between April and October. 

Please note if you are successful in making it into our aerobics squad for 2024 this is a year long commitment. 

2024 training sessions will take place in the Cape Centre at lunchtimes on Wednesdays and Fridays. There could also be some extra training sessions in the lead up to competitions. These sessions will be run under the guidance of Georgia Gates. Georgia has plenty of experience both as a coach and competitor at Action Sport Aerobics. 

Costs Involved:

• Training: $9.00 per week, this will be invoiced to you at the start of each term, approx. $90.00 depending on how many weeks in the term.
• Annual Leotard Hire Fee: approx. $20.00.
• FISAF membership: approx. $10.00 each. 
• Competition entry fees: approx. $20.00 for each competition. 
• Other costs: You will also need to purchase tights and competition shoes.

The other cost involved is if the teams qualify for Nationals. This will involve a trip to Qld which a parent/guardian will need to attend with their child. Other family can also attend if preferred. Please be aware that it will need to be a team decision whether they attend as we will need minimum team numbers to compete.

This must be signed by a parent or guardian in order for your child to try out.

Tryouts will be at lunchtime in the Cape Centre. Please bring a drink bottle, wear appropriate shoes and if wearing a school dress, you will need to have bike shorts on underneath.

Year 4 + 5 - Friday 10th November

Year 2 + 3 - Tuesday 14th November

Prep + Year 1 - Wednesday 15th November

Thursday 16th will be for the students that we select from the above sessions to come back for a second tryout.
