Junior School, South Plympton

A Term full of learning, community and celebration
As we come to the end of another term, it has been wonderful to pause and reflect on all that has been shared and achieved within our Junior School community. This term has been rich with opportunities for learning, connection and celebration, and we are grateful for the way our students and community have participated with enthusiasm, resilience and care for one another.
Our recent events have been particular highlights. Grandparents and Special Friends’ Day was a very special time, as students proudly welcomed loved ones into the school, sharing their classrooms and learning. The picnic and performances at the conclusion of the morning were full of energy, with our visitors interacting with the students in a fun and lively way.
Our Easter Service provided a meaningful opportunity to reflect on the hope of the Easter story, reminding us of God’s love and faithfulness. The children were delighted to see visitors from our neighbourhood join us, some because of the invitations they had thoughtfully written notes to and delivered.
Year 3 – 6 Sports Day was a great occasion, showcasing teamwork, perseverance and a willingness to ‘have a go’, all supported by enthusiastic staff and families.
Alongside these special events, there has also been strong learning taking place each day in classrooms. Students have demonstrated thoughtful engagement in their learning, benefiting from clear instruction and consistent expectations across classrooms as they continue to grow in skill, confidence and independence. We thank our dedicated staff for their care and commitment, and our families for the faithful partnership they provide throughout the term.
We look forward to Term 2 and, in particular, the SACSA athletics for those nominated students on Friday 1st May, our Mothers’ Day classroom visits and Morning Tea on Thursday 7th May and the Year 6 Kangaroo Island Camp during Week 3.
The major Term 3 event will be our Junior School Musical performed at the end of the term.
As we head into the holiday break, we pray for a time of rest, renewal and joy for all. May it be a chance to slow down, spend time together, and give thanks for the many blessings of the term just past.

Update to the School Crossing process starting Term 2
The safety of our students remains our highest priority. To further strengthen our approach to safe arrivals and departures from and to the College, we have updated the school crossing process, which is within our students' supervision procedure. The update includes new tools that support staff supervising students, and will be effective from day 1 of Term 2.
Watch the short video below.
Staff members on crossing duty will now be equipped with enhanced safety tools designed to improve visibility, communication, and traffic awareness.
The updated procedure has been developed to:
- Improve student safety during busy drop-off and pick-up times
- Increase visibility for both students and supervising staff
- Promote safer interactions between pedestrians and vehicles
Students will continue to be guided by staff when crossing roads near the school. We request families to:
- Follow all directions given by staff on duty
- Use designated crossing areas only
- Be mindful of reduced speeds in school zones
- Set a positive example by practising safe road behaviour
By working together, staff, students, and families, we can ensure that everyone arrives at and leaves school safely each day.
Thank you for your continued support.

Community Easter Service
On Thursday 2 April, we gathered as a whole college to remember and reflect on our Lord's salvation, remembering His suffering on the cross, His death, and His victory over death and evil through His resurrection
It was wonderful to see our ELC students, junior school students from both campuses, and secondary school students worshipping together, giving all the glory to our loving God, and celebrating Easter in unity
We were pleased to welcome many of our families and neighbours to the service. Thank you to everyone who could join us!
