FROM THE TEAM

 It was another fun week for the students. The Colour Run was a huge hit with just about everyone overcoming nerves and anxiety and giving it a go, and what fun we had. The children have also enjoyed learning about the celebration of Easter and made some wonderful Easter bonnets for our parade. 

What a way to finish the term.  Enjoy the Easter break and we can’t wait to see you all again in Term 2!

In Phonics, students revised all the Stage one and two letter sounds. We also enjoyed using this knowledge to begin reading and writing words, and short simple sentences.

In Mathematics, students focused revisiting the learning from the term and ended with some fun Easter maths activities.

During Investigations, students discussed the celebration of Easter and how it had a special meaning to their family. They had fun with lots of Easter activities such as decorating Easter eggs, crafting rabbits and Easter chicks and making hats for the Easter Bonnet Parade.

During Wellbeing, we learnt what it means to feel brave. We discussed what feeling afraid or nervous does to our body. This linked nicely with feeling brave to participate in the Colour Run.  

During Writing, Prep students have been writing simple sentences from a colourful picture prompt. We used our knowledge of phonics to sound out tricky words. Then we reread our sentence to check for the correct punctuation.
