Sports Update

Athletics
Two of our Year 8 students recently had the incredible opportunity to compete at the 2026 Australian Athletics Junior Championships in Brisbane, Queensland. This prestigious national event brings together the country’s most promising young athletes across the U14 to U20 age groups for six days of high-level competition.
We are proud to share that Jas Brown and Aiden Power represented the school with distinction. Jas delivered an outstanding performance in the U15 Boys events, placing 5th in the 1500m final with a time of 4:15.74, before going on to claim an ultra impressive silver medal in the 3000m final.
This was a remarkable achievement against some of the best young distance runners in the country!
Aiden also performed strongly, finishing 4th in his 800m heat and recording a personal best time of 2:12.67—narrowly missing a place in the final.
We congratulate both students on their exceptional efforts and the way they represented our school on the national stage. Competing at this level is an outstanding achievement in itself, and an experience they will no doubt carry with them as they continue their athletic journeys.
Basketball
Over the holidays, Year 9 students Hayden Pierce, Harrison Biggs and Josiah Everingham participated in the Bucket Centre 3x3 basketball tournament in Shepparton. They put in a huge effort and finished runners up even whilst versing many division 1 players from Shepparton, Wodonga and surrounding areas. Harison was named the tournament MVP!
Well done boys!
