Wearing the St Pius X College Uniform: Behaviour, Pride, and Responsibility
At St Pius X College, our uniform is a powerful symbol of who we are. It reflects our history, our values, and the high standards we set for ourselves as a community. When students wear the College uniform outside of school hours, they continue to represent St Pius X College, and their behaviour in public plays a significant role in how our College is viewed.
The uniform makes our students instantly recognisable. With that visibility comes responsibility. Whether travelling on public transport, walking through the local community, or visiting shops after school, students are expected to uphold the same standards of respect, courtesy, and self‑discipline that we expect on campus. Positive behaviour reinforces the strong reputation of St Pius X College; poor behaviour can undermine it.
Our Edmund Rice Touchstones guide the way we expect students to conduct themselves in uniform:
• Liberating Education
Students show maturity and responsibility when they behave respectfully in public. Their actions demonstrate the personal growth and character development that a St Pius X education aims to foster.
• Gospel Spirituality
Kindness, respect, and integrity should be visible in every interaction. When students act with compassion and courtesy while in uniform, they live out the Gospel values at the heart of our mission.
• Inclusive Community
The uniform unites all students as members of one community. Each student’s behaviour contributes to the reputation of the whole College. Respectful conduct in public strengthens our relationships with families, neighbours, and the wider community.
• Justice and Solidarity
Acting responsibly in uniform shows fairness and respect for others. Students demonstrate solidarity with their peers by upholding the standards expected of all St Pius X young men.
Wearing the St Pius X College uniform is both a privilege and a responsibility. By maintaining high standards of behaviour in public, students show pride in themselves, their peers, and their College. They honour the Touchstones, uphold our reputation, and demonstrate what it truly means to be a young man of St Pius X.
