Principal's Message

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Carers,

Feast of St Joseph – March 19

At Our Lady Star of the Sea, yesterday we proudly celebrated the Feast of St Joseph, a very special day for our Josephite school community.

St Joseph is known as the foster father of Jesus and the husband of Mary. He is remembered for his kindness, humility, and strong sense of responsibility. Joseph was a carpenter, a hardworking man who cared deeply for his family and trusted in God even when things were difficult.

For our students, St Joseph is a wonderful example of:

  • Courage – doing what is right even when it’s not easy
  • Service – helping others quietly and generously
  • Faithfulness – trusting in God’s plan

As a Josephite school, we follow the spirit of St Joseph and St Mary MacKillop by showing compassion, working together, and looking after those in need. The Feast of St Joseph is a reminder of the values that shape our school community every day.

It’s a beautiful moment in the year to pause, reflect, and give thanks for the people who guide and care for us, just as St Joseph did.

We have to give a huge shout out to Mr Greer and Mrs Lindsay-Thus who coordinated our special day yesterday. Days like that don’t just happen and the planning, rehearsing and implementing was all very much appreciated. I’d also like to thank Mrs McAdams for preparing our students to reenact the History of St Joseph, Miss Burland for the dance group, Mrs Trovato for the choir, our Amadeus teachers for the ensemble and the large number of parent volunteers for helping with the sausage sizzle - we truly are blessed with a special community.
