Harmony Day
Harmony Day is an Australian event held on March 21 (March 20 for St Brigid’s) to celebrate cultural diversity, inclusiveness, and a sense of belonging, occurring at the end of Harmony Week. It promotes respect for all backgrounds. It’s signified by wearing orange to represent social communication. At St Brigid’s we celebrated in family groups reflecting on how everyone belongs here at St Brigid’s. Check out our display in the hall- there are 45 nationalities represented in our school!
Reminder of Upcoming Events
Well done everyone on an amazing term, we're nearly done but there is still so much more fun to come! Don’t miss any of our Holy Week liturgies run by all different year levels. We are very excited about our Easter Bonnet Parade on the MONDAY 30th March at 8:45am and our Easter Egg Raffle at 2:30pm on THURSDAY the 2nd of April. We can’t wait to see you there!
Congratulations
On Sunday 22nd March, Islah S, Jessica L, Will S, Zara E, Tahlia E and Evie E competed in a State Touch Football tournament. They represented Synergise. The day was so much fun, it was full of excitement and competitive spirits. The Under 10s did very well and put their best efforts forward, and Jess and Islah won their Grand Final and are now State Champions.
NEWS FROM MRS SULLIVAN
Kiss and Go Parking Areas
Just a reminder to parents that the Kiss and Go parking areas (on the corner of Albert and Chute Streets) are designated for drivers who remain in their cars while waiting for their children. These spaces are limited to a 5-minute stop only.
Please do not leave your vehicle to collect your child, as fines may apply for overstaying or unattended vehicles.
We understand that parking is currently challenging; however, we ask everyone to be patient and respectful of these guidelines to ensure the safety and efficiency of our drop-off and pick-up times.
Fundraising Ideas
We are currently seeking ideas for future fundraising projects and would love your input. Some ideas already under consideration include:
A new stage or updated stage skirting
Line marking for play areas
A therapy dog for the school
If you have any additional suggestions, please feel free to email them through.
School House Colour Competition
We are now in the final two weeks of our School House Colour Competition. All entries must be submitted by the end of term on Thursday 2nd April. Please send your entries to: wsullivan@sbmord.catholic.edu.au
Easter Donations
Thank you to those who have so generously donated to our Easter Raffle. Our Foundation Families will be in early next week to wrap all the prizes. We ask that all donations are in by Monday and that you return your raffle tickets by Thursday morning! Good luck!
WhatsApp App
Each year level has a WhatsApp group managed by our class representatives to support communication between parents.
Please remember that these groups are intended for current school families only and should not include friends or past families. Class representatives will continue to monitor the groups and remove any members who do not meet these guidelines.
Year 2’s
A special mention to our Year 2 children who are busy creating the much loved “Kirby” character from Mario. They were very excited to learn that my son's name is Kirby and he has been given some lovely pictures. Thank you Year 2’s.
Thank you for reading this week's newsletter. We wish we could continue writing but the job has been passed to a different group of students which consists of Casey, Nora, Daphne, Eva, Eddie, Patrick, Jasper, Torin and Jye. We wish you farewell and a Happy Easter
