Leadership Report

Dear CPS Community,
Thank you to families for making the time to come to our Meet the Teacher last Tuesday and Wednesday. Our teachers found these sessions really helpful and thank you for providing further insight into your child and how they can be supported at school. We hope that you too found this opportunity a positive experience and the chance to begin building a productive relationship with your child’s teacher. We will continue to provide opportunities throughout the year to build a strong sense of connection and belonging in our school community.
We have scheduled several events over the remainder of the term to bring the community together. Harmony Day is coming up in Week 8. We will celebrate together in the gym on Friday 20th of March. Students are encouraged to wear cultural dress or orange, the colour for Harmony Day. The parade will commence at 9:05 am.
In Week 9 we have our Literacy Open Classrooms. Our school community is welcomed between 9:15 and 10:15 am to witness Literacy learning in action. Our students are excited to share their learning experiences with you. You might see phonics, reading or writing in action! You will also see high quality speaking and listening!
To finish the Term we have our annual CPS Easter Bonnet Parade. Again, our community will gather together in the gym with the parade starting at 9:05 am. More information for all these events will be posted on Compass in the coming weeks.
Our Student Leaders have made a fantastic start to the year and have embraced their new roles with confidence. On Wednesday 18th March they will participate in the Dream and Lead Conference. This is a wonderful experience where they will meet leaders from other government schools and develop their leadership capabilities. We look forward to hearing from them about their experiences in the next edition of our Newsletter

School Council is a necessary regulatory/governance body that supports and tracks our school against our goals, priorities and targets. The School Council further develops and endorses whole school policies and events. Our School Council is a vital part of the governance at our school and plays an important role in expressing the voice of our parents and families in the way we implement the vision and values of Craigieburn Primary School.
Curriculum Days
Curriculum days are a vital part of the functioning of a primary school to ensure that targeted professional development can support the planning, assessment and reporting at our school to ensure high-quality, consistent education. These days allow staff to align with the Victorian Curriculum, moderated student work and enhance teaching methods.
For the remainder of 2026, the following are our Curriculum days
- Friday 24th April
- Friday 5th June
- Monday 2nd November
Curriculum days are also student free days. Students will not be required to attend school on these dates.
