Puffing Billy Excursion

On Tuesday, 23rd July, we embarked on a wonderful journey.  The Year prep/1 class and Year 2/3s rode the Puffing Billy train from Belgrave to Emerald station. We went to the Vistor’s centre where we learned about the 3A engine and watched an informative video. We also walked around the lake.

We would now like to share the highlights of our excursion with you.

My favourite part of the excursion was riding on Puffing Billy because I like long train rides. (Ezra)

A highlight for me was the fast train ride because I enjoyed seeing the rainforest and trying to look for animals. (Emma) 

I enjoyed learning about the history of Puffing Billy. (Reishi)

My favourite part of the excursion was looking at the 3A engine because the video was really interesting and informative. (Kaley)

A highlight for me was the train because I could see the beautiful rainforest and the sun shining on the leaves. (Grayson)

I enjoyed the train because it was cool to ride and I liked learning about the old engine. (Jackson)

A highlight was waving to my family as the train passed by. (Greta)

My favourite part of the excursion was seeing all the little animals. (Harvey)

I enjoyed waving to Greta’s family and looking at their house from the train. (Molly)

My favourite part of the excursion was learning about the history of 3A and 4A and walking around the lake. (Ollie) 

A highlight for me was the train ride because I liked looking at the view from the window. (Braxton)

My favourite part of the excursion was learning about the history of Puffing Billy and seeing the 3A engine. (Emily)

I enjoyed looking at the great view and I liked it when the train went really fast down the mountain. (Mataya) 

My favourite part of the excursion was the train and looking out of the windows. It was super high! I really loved dressing up in the worker's uniform. (Lincoln) 

I really enjoyed the museum and learning about the history of Puffing Billy. (Avery)

My favourite part of the excursion was going to the museum and touching the train. The video was very interesting and the man was very funny. (Elsa) 

The highlight of the day was when we learned about the history of Puffing Billy, because it was really interesting. We learned about the very first Puffing Billy train that was made. We had a lot of fun on the ride. (Lily)
