Celebrating Languages Week
The College celebrated Languages Week from 29 July to 2 August. Students enjoyed many activities throughout the week to celebrate French and Chinese culture.
The first of many activities highlighting the French language doubled as a tribute to the Olympics. Students had prepared a display in Nexus-S about their favourite Olympian and, put their skills to the test by writing in French.
During Lunchtime, students explored their Chinese calligraphy skills, mastering the strokes of intricate characters. They also showed off their Tai Chi moves and battled it out in a friendly chopstick competition. Students also enjoyed the bubble tea van, which was a very popular addition to our celebrations.
Finishing off the week with a focus on French culture, students were immersed in the lively atmosphere of a bustling French street café at the photobooth, while others competed for the most flips at the crêpe flipping competition. The crêpe van was extremely popular, with lots of happy students enjoying a delicious French dessert! Students also enjoyed a tasting of the classic French beverage Orangina, accompanied by the immersive sounds of ASC's Jazz trio.
We hope all students enjoyed Languages Week and learned something new about French and Chinese culture!
Girls football team meets legend Tash Rigby at Sam Kerr Centre
Our Year 7 girls' football team had the exciting opportunity to tour the newly built Sam Kerr Centre, guided by former Perth Glory legend Tash Rigby. The team had a wonderful experience listening to stories from some of the world’s best female players and learning many tips to help them with their own game.
Year 7 student Amy writes of the experience: "My soccer team and I recently had the opportunity to visit the Sam Kerr Centre, and I really enjoyed it. The highlights for me were the tour of the stadium and meeting Tash Rigby, who gave us really helpful tips. My favourite piece of advice was learning how to reset as a team after making a mistake."
All of the All Saints’ teams are continuing to have an impressive inaugural season in the Football West leagues, and expressions of interest are now open for the summer JB 6-a-side competition, which will run through Term 4 of this year and Term 1 of next year. You can register your EOI here by 18 August.
Rock Contemporary students light up the Lyrics Underground Stage
Last term, our All Saints' College Rock Contemporary students lit up the stage at Lyrics Underground in Maylands. The night was an absolute hit, featuring an impressive range of styles from the soulful tunes of Amy Winehouse to the hard-hitting anthems of Metallica and everything in between. The vibe was electric and the enthusiasm contagious, making it a night to remember for everyone there. Our students really stood out, showing off their passion and dedication. It was an outstanding celebration of the amazing talent of our up-and-coming rock stars.
ABODA Music Festival Highlights
We had an amazing weekend at the 2024 ABODA Music Festival! Even though our conductor, Ms Buss, couldn’t attend due to COVID-19, our Guarneri musicians delivered an outstanding performance.
Their hard work didn’t go unnoticed, as they received a special mention from adjudicator Mr Dale Pointon.
We are incredibly proud of how they represented All Saints’ and showcased their talent and dedication. Well done!

ASC Rowing State Championships
The ASC Rowing Squad has had a tremendously successful year.
The last regatta resulted in six gold and several silver and bronze positions. All year groups contributed to these results, which shows the depth of talent and determination of our rowers.
The final regatta of the year of the Rowing WA All Schools State Championships takes place on 10 August, an event where students are able to compete against some of the best athletes in the state. We encourage all teachers and students who are available to come and show their support for our athletes. Some of our rowers have been training consistently since September 2023 for this one day! The State Championships are at Perth’s premier rowing facility, Champion Lakes, and run from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
Please wish our rowers the best of luck for this end-of-season event!
Interested in Rowing?
For those interested in rowing next season, the opportunity to start begins in Term 4. We encourage all students who are interested in competing to contact Head Coach of Rowing – Mr Nick Tejchman.
If you would like to discover what rowing is all about, the State Championship regatta is the best opportunity to spectate and cheer on our students. We look forward to seeing (and hearing) the support of all ASC members on the day. You can also find Mr Tejchman at the ISC gym on Thursdays 3.45pm–5.00pm, should you have any questions.
