National Vocations Week

4th to 11th August

This week we say THANK YOU and pray for all our Priests, specially father Joe Taylor and Father Jackson Saunders who commit themselves daily to the service of our Parish and the wider community of Shepparton.

We are forever grateful for their presence and insights when we listen to them at Mass and when they visit our school.

Thank you Father Joe and Father Jackson and all our priests in the Sandhurst Diocese.

We are grateful and thankful for your dedication to serve the Church.

We hope you all had a special VOCATIONS week.

God Bless.

Middle Years Learning Community

Learning about the SIGNS and SYMBOLS of the Sacraments with a visit to the Church with Father Jackson Saunders

On Tuesday, 6th August, Father Jackson met the Middle Years Learning Community in the Church to go over the seven Sacraments and some of the signs and symbols for each Sacrament.

The students always enjoy listening to Father Jackson and were very reverent and respectful in the Church as he allowed them to explore more closely some of the other symbols in the Church.

We are very grateful to the dedicated service of our priests in our Parish and our schools.

Thank you Father Jackson.

Staff Professional Learning with

Father Joe Taylor

 Tuesday, 6th August

 ‘What makes a school Catholic?’

This week father Joe spent an hour with our staff unpacking the essence of what makes a school Catholic.

We all shared in collegial dialogue discussing the traits of other religions and the government education system and compared this with Catholic Education and our traditions and ethos.

Father Joe finished the session with a reading from scripture, Jeremiah chapter 20, explaining ‘Faith is in us’ and it is this faith that we empower ourselves to teach our students.

Feast of the Assumption of Mary

Next Thursday, 15th August

To celebrate and commemorate this special Holy Day of Obligation across the school all our students will be involved in prayer AND REFLECTION THROUGHOUT THE DAY.

The Junior Years and Senior Years Learning Communities will hold their own Paraliturgies. The Middle Years classes will be attending and leading the 9.15am Mass with our parishioners.

Kind Regards,

Leanne Pellegrino (Catholic Identity Leader)
