Ormond Primary School Annual House Athletics 

OPS was disappointed to have to cancel the Annual Ormond Primary School Year 3-6 House Athletics which was supposed to take place last Tuesday.

 

Information regarding this event is still TBC at this stage.

 

Year 3-6 House Athletics

Moorabbin Athletics Track - Rowans Road, Bricker Reserve

Monday 5th August – 9.30am-2pm

 

The annual Ormond Primary School Year 3- 6 House Athletics is being held at Moorabbin Athletics Track, Bricker Reserve, Rowans Road.

 

This is not only a fun day where the children participate in various running, throwing and jumping events, but also as a selection day for the Ormond Primary School Athletics Team.

 

Students will participate in age groups. Students will be in the age group of the age they are turning in 2024. If you child turns 10 this year or has already turned 10, they will compete in the 10 year old group. They must follow these guidelines to be considered for selection in the Ormond Primary School Team.

 

Students must bring their lunch, snacks and drinks for the day.

 

Further information and a schedule for each age group's events will be sent home soon.

If you are able to assist your child’s classroom teacher with various jobs such as measuring etc. could you let that teacher know as soon as possible please.


Years 5 & 6 Bike Education - Term 3

Year 5 Bike Ed will be on the following dates:

Wednesday 21st August

Wednesday 4th September

Wednesday 11th September

 

Year 6 Bike Ed will be on the following dates:

Friday 23rd August

Friday 6th September

Friday 13th September 

Braeside Ride on Thursday 19th September

 

More information regarding the Year 6 Braeside Ride will be sent out early in Term 3. 

Parents will be required to assist with cooking and riding with groups on the day. If we don’t have the parental support we can’t run the Braeside Ride Day.

 

IMPORTANT NOTE:

A bike and helmet check has been sent home with all Year 5 and 6 students. Please carry out these checks and have any mechanical problems attended to before the sessions commence. Students won’t be allowed to ride in these sessions if there are any roadworthy issues.

 

We also require assistance with the Bike Ed sessions at school. If you can assist, please inform your child’s classroom teacher.

Year 5 sessions will be run between recess and lunch

Year 6 sessions will be run from 9am until recess
