On Wednesday 31st July, we had two teams travel to Hamilton for the Victorian School Netball Championships. Congratulations to our senior team, coming away with a clean sweep, making them eligible for the State Titles on August 29th in Melbourne.
Intermediate team - our team of ten players is to be congratulated on their efforts throughout the day. Mia, Jordain, Tayla and Chelsea were our shooters with Jaida, Lily and Bree running through the centre, whilst Nikki, Hannah and Iris held up the defensive end. The results from their games were: a loss to Hamilton Alexandra (9-13), win against Good Shepherd (0-13), win against Portland College (11-6), loss to Monivae College (13-7), loss to Baimbridge College (7-9) and loss to Ballarat Clarendon (23-4).
Senior team - consisting of nine players, which included three Year 10 students, this team played consistent netball across the court. Jorja, Mia and Jarrah worked well under the ring, shooting a number of goals, while Keely and Madison fed the ball to the shooters through the mid court. The strong defensive team of Isabella, Abbey, Maddison and Jess were a formidable force. We wish this team all the best at State Titles later this month. The team won all of their games with the following results: Good Shepherd 23-0, Monivae College 17-8, Hamilton College 16-5, Ballarat Clarendon 17-8, Casterton College 16-9 and Bainbridge College 24-5.
The two teams were coached by staff members Ashlee Grace and Brydie Hutchinson. We sincerely thank parent volunteer, Rebecca Hudson, for coming along and umpiring throughout the day.
