Year Five/Six News
Written by Lily D & Ava P
In Year 5/6 this term we are learning about Historical Context. Our class novel is 'Nanberry'. Nanberry is set in 1788, a realistic fiction, written by Jackie French.
This also links into our new Humanities topic which is Australian Colonisation.
During writing this term we have been brainstorming things that interest us, called 'seeds'. We have had a choice about our type and topic of writing.
For Maths this term we have been focusing on Fractions! We have learnt how to add mixed fractions and convert improper fractions to mixed numbers.
Art has been super fun too! We are currently working on making a 3D cake sculpture that will be displayed during our art show.
We are so glad to be back for Term 3! This term is already really fun, and a big thanks to all the teachers, ES staff, specialist teachers and our Principal for making this term possible!
