Year Three/Four News

The students in the Brady Building have settled back into their weekly routines for Term 3 very well and are feeling lots of excitement for a fun and busy term ahead!

With the Paris Olympics beginning this week, students have been immersing themselves in the upcoming event, including participating in Miss Wood's weekly class challenges related to the sports and athletes. In the Writer's Workshop this week, students have brainstormed ideas about the Olympics using the Olympic Rings as their seed to inspire ideas. Using these ideas, we will be working on developing information reports to proudly display in our Learning Portfolios to share during Three Way Conferences at the end of this term. Check out some of the ideas students have developed so far.

A few reminders from the 3/4 teachers to keep in mind:

  • Our History Box incursion is fast approaching (Monday 5th of August, Week 4). Please ensure permission notes have been returned to school at your earliest convenience. This incursion is supporting our Humanities unit based on the First Fleet and First Australians, providing students an exciting opportunity to engage in this important learning.
  • It is great to see so many students reading each night and recording this in their diaries to share with classroom teachers. It is an expectation for our students to be reading at least three times each week for 10-20 minutes and recording this in school diaries. Please see classroom teachers if you need any support.
  • Students need to ensure they are bringing their iPad to school charged each day. This term, we are unable to access spare STEM iPads to utilise in the classroom if personal iPads are forgotten, impacting learning experiences.
