Prep
Students will be exploring storytelling in fairytales. They will use drama to finish exploring the well know fairytale of 'The Three Little Pigs', using their voice and bodies to portray different characters and moments from the story. Students will then explore the story and characters of 'Jack and the Beanstalk'.
Grade 1 and 2
With the Olympic Games is full swing, this week students will will be inspired by the pictogram performance at the Tokyo 2020 opening ceremony. They will create their own sequence of pictograms using their bodies, finding ways to present them and transition between each one.
Grade 3 and 4
Students are continuing to learn about the dance style of 'breaking'. They will learn about how breaking is judged in this year's Olympic Games. Students will have the chance to practise the 'toprock' and 'go down' moves they have been taught and also begin to learn some 'footwork' moves.
Grade 5 and 6

Prep
Students will begin a construction unit creating a ‘Fairytale Tree House’. They will paint the tree and house and begin to construct a fence around the perimeter.
Grade 1 and 2
Students will be making a connection to the CBL Big Idea of ‘Respect’ by looking similarities and differences between people and what makes each of us special. They will be mixing colours to create their own unique skin tone as a base for a self portrait.
Grade 3 and 4
Students will begin a new unit based around the book ‘The Pocket Dog’. They will begin by making a dog out of clay focussing on joining techniques and realistic details.
Grade 5 and 6
Students will be creating an Olympic string artwork by hammering small nails into a piece of timber in the shape of the Olympic rings. They will wind colourful string around the nails and finish off their piece by burning 'Paris 2024' using a wood burning tool.
Prep Sensory Gym
In this week’s Sensory Gym sessions, students will enjoy a selection of activities and exercises designed to improve their balance, core strength and hand-eye coordination.
Prep-Grade 2 PE
Due to a shortened week, not every class will have Physical Education this week. Those that do will participate in a selection of small group activities to review and consolidate the Fundamental Movement Skills of kicking and punting.
Grades 3-6
Due to a shortened week, not every class will have Physical Education this week. Those that do will participate in several small group activities, reviewing the key skills for the field events in Athletics.
