Ephesians Two Ten Service Program

The ‘Ephesians Two Ten’ Service Program continues to offer opportunities this term for students particularly in Year 10 and Year 11 to engage their Edmund Rice Hours. The following programs are offered weekly due to the generosity of our staff in supervising these:

Be Connected Program:

The Be Connected Program is offered on Tuesday afternoons at Chatswood library and involves students offering their time to assist senior citizens with their technology needs.

St Peter’s Program:

The St Peter’s Program is offered on Wednesday afternoons at St Peter’s Nursing Home Lane Cove, and involves students providing opportunities for 1:1 conversations with residents, while also providing technology assistance.

Matthew Talbot Program:

The Matthew Talbot Program is offered on Thursday afternoons and involves students assisting with the dinner service at the Matthew Talbot Hostel in the city. This particular homelessness service has been supported by the College for over 25 years.

Tuesday Morning Chapel Mass:

Each Tuesday morning at 8:00 am, the College in partnership with Mercy Catholic College in Chatswood provide Chapel Masses. These Masses are prepared by the students and are a warm and beautiful way to start the week together. Parents are most welcome. Weeks 1, 3, 5, 7 and 9 and held at the St Pius X College Chapel and Weeks 2, 4, 6, 8, and 10 are held in the Mercy College Chapel.

St Pius X and Mercy Youth Mass:

In Week 4, on Sunday 18 August, we will celebrate the next St Pius X and Mercy Youth Mass at Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Church Chatswood at 5:30 pm. The Mass is focused on youth and is followed by pizza in the forecourt. A fantastic opportunity to socialise in faith, fun, food and friendship. All are welcome.

Sarto Collective:

The Sarto Collective is a Youth Ministry Group of students of all year groups who gather in the Chapel between 7:30 am - 8.30 am each Friday morning. It is an opportunity to share and explore the big questions of life, faith, hopes and worries in the spirit of brotherhood. Breakfast is provided.

Grandparent's Day Junior School Liturgy

In Week 4, on Thursday 15 August, the College will be celebrating the 2024 Grandparent's Day Junior School Liturgy at Oxford Falls at 10:45 am. Please join us as we celebrate those who hold such a cherished place in our lives as families and as a community of faith.

Mark Six Thirty One Crossroads Retreat Program

The Mark Six Thirty One Crossroads Retreat Program is a suite of Retreats and Formation Days designed to give students and staff the opportunity to 'Come away to a quiet place, and rest awhile'. Just as Jesus withdrew to a place of quiet for contemplation, reflection and prayer, then College provides the opportunity to engage with high quality retreat experiences to deepen their relationship with God, each other and self.

Year 12 Retreats:

The Mark Six Thirty One Crossroads Retreat Program hold the Year 12 Retreat Program as its crown jewel. In Week 5, there will be five retreats offered so that Year 12 as a cohort will have progressed through this transformative three day residential experience. Please keep them in your prayers.

Edmund Rice Hours Log and Reflection Book

A reminder that students in Year 10 and Year 11 have received an updated log and reflection journal to assist their processing and tracking of their 20 hours service.

This document will assist the students in taking the necessary time to reflect on what has transformed within them as a result of serving those in need, and where, when and how have they witnessed the face of God in those they serve.

Students have received a hard copy. Please find a soft copy attached here.

God bless,
