A very busy but very exciting time is upon us in the world of Books! We look forward to celebrating together as a school in these great festivities!

St Anthony's Book Fair!

This coming week we will celebrate our St Anthony's book fair! This is a fantastic opportunity for students and families to purchase some brand new shiny books to read!

We have a fantastic relationship with Lamont Books who always help us when it comes to this time of year!

The Book Fair is held in our library space. Monday the 12th of August to Wednesday the 14th of August, the fair will be open in our library both before and after school. Students and parents are invited in to come and have a browse! There are books for all age levels at a reasonable price. Students will also be able to visit the fair with their classes on Tuesday and Wednesday, should parents wish to send them to school with some money to purchase books.  There are also a wide supply of erasers, pencils and other cool classroom items.

Cash and Eftpos are both accepted at our Book Fair. Please note that we can only accept Eftpos when parents are able to visit the fair before and after school next week.

Importantly, a portion of proceeds from these books directly assist our school! These funds raised can purchase new books for our library or organise special guest speakers for our students.

We look forward to seeing the library full of students and parents next week to purchase some fresh new exciting books to launch into!

Book Week!

Book Week is a true highlight of school calendars across the country each year! We have organised our Book Fair to take place in the build up to this special week. Book Week takes place between Monday the 17th of August and Friday the 23rd of August. During this time students across the school will complete special activities to celebrate all things books, reading and writing.

This years theme is "Reading is Magic." Students will explore how books can take us to wonderful worlds and places, and how we can easily get lost in the pages of creativity we have on offer.

During this week students will have some special guest week speakers! Junior school students will meet with Nicky Johnstone who is an award winning author and illustrator of over 30 different books. Middle and Senior school will be visited by Dean Rankine who is also a fantastic author and comic book illustrator! These sessions will be fantastic fun for all of our students. Please find some information on these special visitors below. Some of these authors books can also be purchased at our book fair, and Nicky and Dean will happily sign them on their visit!

Time to Dress Up!

Book Week would not be Book Week without our parade and dress up day! This will take place on Friday the 23rd of August. Students are invited to attend school in their best Book Themed costume, which is always so much fun! We will host all parents in the Padua for a special assembly and parade at 9.00AM that day to show off all these cool costumes! This gives us an opportunity to celebrate together, but also to take plenty of photos to remember our day. This is especially before our school day proceeds and costumes pieces might need to come off before running around on the playground!

We look forward to the next few weeks and celebrating all things Books! We thank all of our parents for their support and encouragement as always! Please continue to check and read emails for the latest updates on all of our events and initiatives.

Thanks so much!
