Library News

Our lovely library is a wonderfully warm and cosy place to visit especially during chilly lunchtimes.

This month we have added about 40 more books to our collection. Raina Telgemeier, Katie Kirby and Morris Glieztman continue to be popular authors with our senior school students and we have expanded our collection of these books to meet the enthusiasm.

Year 1/2 students have had a dedicated library lesson on ‘Caring for our Library’ and this week the Year 3/4s did a recount from well-known fable The Hare and the Tortoise, bringing literacy lessons and library together!

One of our new books Sidney of Sydney, was an instant hit with the lunchtime visitors! This book is by award winning author Sue Whiting, with beautiful illustrations by Liz Anelli, and quickly became very popular. It is a charming and enjoyable tale, based on a true story, of a little penguin lost in a big city. Students enjoyed reading the story as well as ‘Sidney’ themed colouring in and drawing at lunchtimes.

Happy Reading!
