A message from our Principal

Dear St. Brendan's School Community,

Can you believe we’re already approaching the end of another term?

Over the past 11 weeks, our school has been buzzing with rich learning experiences and joyful celebrations.

I’d like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our School Advisory Council and Parents and Friends Committee for their ongoing commitment and valuable insights, helping us continue to grow as a vibrant school community.

A special thank you to our dedicated staff, whose commitment to our students and their learning is truly remarkable. And of course, to our students, who have worked incredibly hard and shown great enthusiasm throughout the term, well done!

We keep in our prayers Dom Poppa, whose mother recently passed away, and Heather Woodman, who is mourning the loss of her father. We offer our deepest condolences and hold their families in our hearts during this difficult time. May they find comfort and peace surrounded by love and support.

We are pleased to share the news that Bishop Shane Mackinlay has been appointed as the Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Brisbane. This is a significant and well-deserved recognition of his leadership and service.  We thank Bishop Shane for his guidance, care, and dedication to the Diocese of Sandhurst, and we wish him every blessing as he begins this new chapter in Brisbane.

Semester 1 Reports

Semester One student reports will be released to parents via PAM on Thursday, 3rd July. Once the reports are available, we will send an email notification to let you know they are ready to view.

In Week 2 of Term 3, we will be holding Parent-Teacher Learning Conversations. Parents are encouraged to book a time to reflect on Semester One and discuss their child’s current learning goals and future directions.

COMING SOON!  In our second Newsletter of Term 3, we’re excited to introduce a new section featuring updates and insights from each learning community. This will include suggested home activities to complement what students are learning at school.

Updates: Before and After School Care - Uniting

This Wednesday, I met with the team from Uniting, who will be providing our Before and After School Care services. We’re excited to announce that the program will officially begin in Week 1 of Term 3.

Further details will be shared soon. Once the Child Care Subsidy is finalised with the government, we’ll be able to provide enrolment information for those interested.

Stay tuned!

Netball Beanies

This week, the Netball Club beanies arrived at school, and it’s been wonderful to see so many students proudly wearing them on these cool mornings.

A friendly reminder to families:

  • Please ensure all beanies are clearly labelled.
  • Beanies are to be worn outdoors only and not during class time.

A big thank you to Ella Cannon, Michaela Sargeant, and Rachael Weber for their organisation and thoughtful efforts in making these beanies available.  It’s a great initiative that allows students to show their support for both the school and the St. Brendan’s Netball Club.

2026 Foundation Enrolments Closing Soon

Enrolments for Foundation 2026 will close this Friday, 27th of June. Families can complete the enrolment process online by visiting our school website and clicking the Enrol Now button.

If you know of any families looking for a school for their Foundation child, please let them know that they can request a school prospectus via our website. We are also currently taking bookings for individual school tours for interested families.

Fruit Break Updates

At 10:00am each day, students enjoy a short 5-minute fruit break.  We kindly ask families to provide a suitable fruit snack for their children.

To help make this time efficient and smooth:

  • Please ensure fruit is pre-cut or segmented if needed.
  • Pack the fruit in a small, separate container (not in the main lunchbox).

We’ve noticed many students are bringing out their entire lunch during this short break, which is causing delays in transitioning back to learning. Your support in preparing a quick and easy fruit snack will help us make the most of our learning time.

Thank you for your cooperation!
