Over the weekend, Tahnee had her first photography exhibition in Burnie—a fantastic achievement! Tahnee has been participating in photography classes outside of school, and it is clear that her dedication and creativity are paying off. Her displayed work was beautiful, capturing incredible detail, vibrant colour, and a striking sense of clarity.
It was a joy to see her unique perspective come to life through the lens. We are so proud of her initiative and talent—well done, Tahnee!
This dedicated group shows up twice a week before school for rehearsals—rain, hail, or shine. Their performance at Founders Day was no exception. Despite the rain and cold, they sang beautifully with one strong voice, showing resilience, unity, and true commitment.
A big thank you to each student involved—your effort and enthusiasm are noticed and appreciated. And yes, the well-earned hot chocolates afterward were a welcome treat!
Some of our DCS students are members of the Crescendo Choir who recently attended the Festival of Voices Young Tasmania Sings combined choir event with The Tasmanian Youth Orchestra.
They sung with over 400 young singers ages 10 to 14 to work together with a visiting expert director. Well done and what a fantastic experience to be a part of!
Over the past term, Year 8 student Connor F. completed his leadership project, which involved basketball training for Year 1 and 2 students after school once a week. Connor has done a great job of developing his leadership skills each week, including planning, adapting to behaviours, and giving explicit instructions. He has demonstrated great flexibility in his leadership by adapting instructions and drills to suit each level of skill within the group.
Connor has come to each training session with an eagerness to help younger basketball players within the school. Connor's encouragement within his sessions is a characteristic that has been evident in his training, resulting in a fun experience for the younger kids each week. I know they will miss the sessions!
Well done, Connor, on a significant leadership project that has given back to the school community!
