Community Connections

Bemin Secondary College continues to lead the way in creating rich, future-focused opportunities for our students. This term, two major initiatives have given students the chance to dream big, both on the sporting field and in the world of technology.

From being the first government school in Victoria to partner with A-League club Western United FC, to our students stepping into the exciting world of tech at Amazon Girls’ Tech Day, we’re proud to provide platforms that inspire confidence, passion, and aspiration.

Western United FC Partnership Announced

Bemin Secondary College is delighted to announce that we have become the first government school in Victoria to be formally partnered with an A-League team, with the announcement of our formal partnership with A-League powerhouse Western United FC.

This exciting collaboration will provide our students with unique opportunities to engage in high-quality football training, mentoring, and development pathways led by professional coaches. It also opens the door to potential leadership, health, and wellbeing initiatives linked to elite sport.

We’re proud to work alongside Western United FC to support our students’ growth both on and off the field, and look forward to the many opportunities this partnership will bring to our school community.

Amazon Girls Tech Day @ Wyndham Tech School

Selected students from both campuses took part in Amazon Girls’ Tech Day - a full-day event designed to inspire and empower young women to explore careers in technology.

Girls' tech day was an amazing experience for me and has changed the way I think about STEM and engineering. If I could, I would go to that event every day because it was one of the best experiences I had, and I hope every girl one day could have that experience one day or another.

Aarya, Year 7

The girls' tech day was a surreal experience. There were many aspects of STEM that I learnt about, and I am glad to say that I very much enjoyed this program. Many female role models gave some inspiring speeches. All the people there were very nice, and there were many fun activities to contribute to.

Tisha, Year 7

I think that this inspiring event has encouraged many girls to find their inner strength and to come out of their shells. It was not only inspirational but also gave us a chance to explore the aspects of a career and the journey we wish to take. There were plenty of games and places to explore with our friends, and we were encouraged to let our curiosity be heard. Overall, this event has helped us significantly and is a must go to event for future stars.

Sahasra, Year 7

Students heard from industry professionals, engaged in hands-on tech activities, explored innovations from leading companies and universities, and connected with female mentors shaping the future of STEM.

For many, it was their first step into the world of technology, showing that whether you're interested in science, creativity, problem-solving, or leadership, there’s a place for everyone in tech.
