2023 Celebration of Excellence

Reminder: Attendance of Year 7s at the 2023 Mount Alvernia College Celebration of Excellence Awards Night on Monday 16 October.

The below information was sent from Heads of House to all Year 7 families via email in Term 3, please be reminded of the below. 

All Year 7 students are expected to attend the 2023 Mount Alvernia Celebration of Excellence Awards Night on Monday 16 October, in the San Damiano Centre. The evening begins at 6pm and should finish by 8.15pm. Parents are most welcome to attend the evening, and especially so, if you know your daughter is receiving an award. 

The purpose of the evening is to showcase excellence across the college, acknowledge others’ success and allow Year 7 students to join in the celebration of the life of the college during their first year of secondary school.  At Mount Alvernia College, we recognise success and achievement in so many ways, so this is also a great opportunity for students to see this and subsequently, to set their own goals for future success. 

Students will be required to wear their full formal uniform (no hat). Students should arrive by 5.45pm and move to the bleachers inside San Damiano where their names will be marked off the roll. Should your daughter be unable to attend this event, please advise me of this through written email notification prior to the event. 

We look forward to sharing the night with you and your daughter and celebrating the success of our students and your child, if they are receiving an award. We also hope that the Celebration of Excellence helps to inspire your daughter’s aspirations across academic, community, sporting and cultural areas for next year and beyond.
