Deputy Principal - Teaching & Learning

Ms Kath Little

Dear Parents/Carers,

I hope all students had a wonderful September break and relished the opportunity to refresh themselves in readiness for Term 4. I would particularly like to acknowledge the large number of Year 12 students who availed themselves of holiday tutorials, in order to advance preparations for their external assessment. I would also like to thank our dedicated staff, who delivered tutorials in the holiday period.

This week, Year 12 students received additional information about tutorials that are available outside of normal class time, across Weeks One, Two and Three of Term Four. On Monday of next week, students will receive a final EA and Master Class / Tutorial Schedule for Weeks Four, Five and Six. In addition to attendance at these tutorials, we would ask parents to ensure high attendance rates from our seniors so that they can end well and achieve their very best. As our Awards ceremony indicated this week, our Year 12s are on track to achieve some outstanding results, provided their Examination assessments are at the same level as their internal assessments. I also recognise the fabulous achievement of 63 of our year 12 students, who have successfully completed their Diploma of Business. It is a remarkable undertaking indeed, to see so many of our students complete a post-school qualification whilst at school.

Parents of Year 11 students are reminded that students in General subjects will commence Summative Unit 3 assessment in most subjects in Term 4. All students must be available for assessment as scheduled, unless they can substantiate illness and misadventure. Parents and students are reminded that family holidays are not grounds for rescheduling assessment. Where Senior students miss assessment due to a holiday, they will lose credit. This may impact QCE and ATAR eligibility. I would ask all parents to be aware of assessment periods, which are released in the Assessment Calendars at the commencement of each Semester.

May I also take this opportunity to congratulate the Year 7 and 9 students who achieved NAPLAN awards, in particular our overall achievers:

Year 7:

Bronze AwardMarianne
Silver AwardAlyssa
Gold AwardMillicent

Year 9:
