What an incredible term we have had!  We have especially enjoyed events that provided opportunities for parents, carers and other members of our school community to be involved e.g.:

  • the grand opening of our outdoor learning space featuring Indigenous plants with a range of uses.
  •  the now legendary P&C trivia night.
  • Tally Way Community Day - A whole day focused on wellbeing with exciting activities for students and their families plus a special wellbeing workshop for parents and carers.

I continue to be impressed by the efforts, achievements and behaviour of our students.  Throughout the term, students excelled in the areas of academics, sport and The Arts.  I am extremely grateful to Team Tally (our staff) who work with enthusiasm, dedication and care to support the success and positive school experience for our students.

A Special Visitor

Yesterday, we were absolutely thrilled to see a koala in our school grounds.  She quickly moved from the carpark very early in the morning and enjoyed the day safely in our trees.  Students were very excited when they spotted her on the way back to class after our evacuation drill.

Term 3 Active School Travel Breakfast

Last Friday (8 September), school staff accompanied students who walked or rode from Eddie Kornhauser Park (Lakewoods) to school as part of our participation in the Gold Coast City Council’s Active School Travel program.

Students who walked or rode to school that day (not just from Lakewoods) enjoyed a light, healthy breakfast and received prizes for participating.  These mornings are lovely community events and it was excellent to see so many parents, carers and younger siblings joining in.

Once again, volunteers from the Lions Club excelled with their toast cooking.  They are a special part of our school community and we appreciate their ongoing support!

Term 3 House Rewards Activity

Congratulations to Andrews who received the most Tiger Paws recognising outstanding behaviour this term and winning the house reward activity.  This term's reward activity was inspired by the Matildas and children had great fun playing soccer within an inflatable soccer field, games and ice blocks.

Building Project

Work towards our 8 new classrooms and a new playground continues to progress well and the buildings will be installed during the holidays.  Due to this, the school grounds are closed during the second week of the holidays and vacation care offered at other sites.

iConnect Information Session

An information session for parents and carers about your bring your own device program, iConnect, was held this week.  iConnect provides the opportunity for enhanced teaching and learning through the use of iPads and parents and carers are welcome to contact our Tech Support team if they have any questions.  We encourage participation in this Year 3 - Year 6 program as it assists students to develop skills they need now and in high school.

Holidays

Wishing all of our Tallebudgera families a wonderful break.  Term 4 commences Tuesday, 3 October (Monday, 2 October is a public holiday).
