Principal's message
Welcome to T4
I would like to formally welcome everyone back to what will once again be an extremely productive and busy term. I would also like to state how happy we are that everyone has returned happy and safely from the holiday break and wherever their travels took them. We now edge closer to summer days and the weather the general (minus these past few) seems to have added an extra pep in our students steps!
On an administrative level, this is the term that workforce planning is finalised, budgeting for 2024 is completed, and grades structures are finalised. We currently have an enrolment of 71 students and will be increasing to around 75 next year. Our grade structures will look different to this year, however these will be finalised in the final weeks of term when we have a full understand of the exact number of students in year levels for 2024.
On an educational level, a number of transitions will be occurring this year, from our new 2024 preps coming in to our Yr6's heading out; and our focus on improvement of student outcomes will continue. Towards the end of the term, final assessments are undertaken, end of year reports are completed.
Warrion Flower Show
The 111th Annual Flower Show will be held at the Warrion Public Hall Wednesday 25th of October from 12 midday. Alvie Primary School has a stall that is being organised by Simone Kretschmar. This stall will include a range of baked goods as well as child cookie creation activities. If you would like to contribute either your time behind the stall or in the baking of goods, please be in touch with Simone :)
Recruitment for 2024
We have recently been through a recruitment process and are thrilled to extend a warm and enthusiastic welcome to the newest addition to the Alvie Primary School community, Sage Bolton, who will be commencing at Alvie PS from 2024. Sage has experience gained from teaching at Winchelsea Primary School, Camperdown College, and Colac Primary School over the past few years. She brings a rich tapestry of knowledge, skills, and passion for education to our team. Her commitment to fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment will undoubtedly enhance the educational journey of our students. We are excited to be welcoming Sage in 2024 and look forward to witnessing the positive impact that she will have on our school and its students. Welcome aboard!
Term 4 = Hats
Just a reminder as we move into Term 4 that broad brim hats are required by all students when outside
