Year 6 News

Last term, last day - buddy experience

Year 6 students visited their prep buddies at the Molesworth St. Campus. Year 6 had prepared questions to ask the preps such as: 

• What is your favourite activity to do at school? 
• What is your favourite food? 
• Where do you like to play during break times? 
• What is your favourite story? 

Preps then talked about, wrote down and drew their responses to create some very cute picture story books! Here are some student reflections: 

Abbey G 6A | Prep Buddy = Rittika 

My buddy is really cute, really good at spelling and really good at drawing giraffes. Rittika is left handed. She drew the pictures to go with the book that I had made on my iPad. She really likes using the sparkly pen feature on my iPad. It has been awesome because I have always wanted to have a buddy! 

Ruby 6A | Prep Buddy = Tess 

In the time we had, we read a book that I had written, and she showed off her amazing drawing skills by drawing animals and her favourite book character, the Princess in Black. Then we went to the bookshelf and saw all the books. She chose The Man with Messy Hair and we read the book together. Buddies is a great time to bond with younger students and for them to have someone to look up to! 

Nimmy 6A | Prep Buddy = Mackenzie 

Most of the time we are reading books, illustrating or doing colouring ins. When we were still on the same campus we would build fairy castles together. We would also hope that the next day the castle would still be there so that we could expand it. I've liked getting to know a little buddy that I think is similar to how I was in prep. 

Abby 6A | Prep Buddy = April 

April and I like reading books together, she even illustrated the book that I wrote. She has the same favourite subjects as me! They are PE and Art! She is a mini me but with longer hair. For book week she dressed up as Strega Nonna and read me that book. Buddies has been an enjoyable experience and I wish we could spend more time with them. 

Eva 6A | Prep Buddy = Harriet 

Me and Harriet like colouring and reading. She is very sweet and kind as well. I like how she is very confident. We have had a really good experience together and I am going to be a bit upset when I go to high school because I am going to miss her. I will never forget her!
