Year 10 Visual Arts Excursion

In the bustling heart of our city, the Year 10 Visual Arts students embarked on an excursion to explore the theme of ‘Urban Landscape.’ We went on a sculptural walk through the city which was an eye-opening experience that allowed our young artists to connect their classroom studies with the urban environment. This opportunity proved to be both educational and inspiring, offering a fresh perspective on our surroundings.

High above Angel Place, intricate birdcages held aloft, our students encountered the enchanting ‘Forgotten Songs,’ an artwork that resonated with the vanishing sounds of native birds. It artfully highlighted the connection between art, nature and our urban environment. At Wynyard Station, ‘Interloop’ showcased the fusion of art, history and architecture, transforming the everyday into an artistic experience. These were just a glimpse of the sculptures within the urban landscape that we explored. Countless other magnificent sculptures left a profound impact on our young artists during the sculptural walk.

This inspiring excursion has left our young artists filled with ideas and eager to translate their newfound inspiration into their Body of Work.

2024 school travel Opal card applications are now open

Students who need a School Opal card or travel pass for 2024 can apply here. A new application will need to be submitted if they are applying for the first time, or if they are requesting additional travel entitlement because of new shared parental arrangement (e.g. joint custody).

Students who change address, school, campus location, have repeated a year or received an expiry notification from Transport for NSW for their school travel entitlement should renew or update their details before the end of Term 4. This will ensure that schools can endorse applications, and entitlements remain valid for the start of the 2024 school year. School Opal card holders will have the changes applied to their existing card.

If a student’s distance eligibility has changed based on their grade (i.e. grade six to grade seven), the system will automatically update their entitlement if they meet the new criteria. If they do not meet the new eligibility criteria, we will send them an expiry notification via email.

Students who have an entitlement approved under a medical condition that is due to expire will receive a notification advising them to re-apply.

Term Bus Pass holders will receive a notification to re-apply.

Students in the Opal network applying for an Opal card (including a Term Bus Pass) for the first time will receive their Student Opal card at their nominated postal address. Cards will be mailed out from January 2024.

Science

Science Club will be postponed for the remainder of the term.
