Life Skills Timber

The Life Skills Timber elective class learned some new skills last term and had fun making Penny Skateboards. The students started the process by gluing and laminating 5 sheets of pre-cut ply,  then compressed them in a vacuum chamber. They then bent them into the traditional skateboard shape. 

For our very cool laser designs, we found an image and uploaded it into the Adobe Illustrator program. Dallas helped to position our designs onto our newly sanded skateboards. We then applied three light coats of oil. This will make our skateboards more durable and water resistant. 

We are so proud of our designs and we have looked at marketing strategies for a skateboard business.
