WELLBEING @ WYNDHAM

World Mental Health Day

World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year. The aim is to raise awareness of the importance of mental health as a universal human right. According to World Health Organisation (WHO), one in eight people globally are living with mental health conditions, which can impact their physical health and wellbeing, how they connect with others and their livelihoods. World Mental Health Day brings attention to everyone’s need to have access to mental health care and supportive services.

Wyndham hosted a youth services expo with a range of specialist services to recognise World Mental Health Day. The expo was very well-received by the students and staff who engaged with fun activities and learned about services available to young people.

Pasifika Achievement to Higher Education (PATHE) Program

On 24 October Wyndham College Pasifika students participated in a tour of the Western Sydney Campus in Kingswood. ‘Check it Out Campus’ Tours are an initiative of the Pasifika Achievement to Higher Education (PATHE) program. PATHE promotes further options for Pacific people to develop and gain new skills, knowledge and lead to greater opportunities in life.

While experiencing the university environment, Wyndham students met with peers from other schools, were involved in a range of activities designed to help them achieve their best and explored career directions they might take in the future.
